I am a Bioinformatics Research Scientist with extensive experience in genomics and infectious disease research. My work integrates applied bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology to address critical public health challenges through genomic surveillance and data-driven solutions.
I have led and collaborated on interdisciplinary projects across academic, public health, and international organizations, including CARD-AMR/Canada, NICD, COG-Train/COVID-19 Genomics UK Consortium, RSV genotyping consortium - ECDC-WHO, and the Pathogen Genomics Initiative/Africa CDC, fostering innovation in genomic research and capacity building worldwide.
Actively engaged in One-Health initiatives, I recognize the importance of leveraging genomics for translational impact, policy development, and promoting equity in science.
Passionate about advancing diversity in STEMM, I am eager to contribute my leadership experience, technical expertise, and global perspective to the Genome Canada Initiative. I aim to strengthen collaborative networks, support strategic research initiatives, and promote inclusive excellence within the Canadian Black Scientists Network community.
