STEMM Pathways

Programs

The BE-STEMM 2025 conference will be held from July 30 to Aug 1 at the University of Calgary (in person). This working group will support the BE-STEMM organizing committee.

A wide variety of roles are available to help prepare for the conference, including: recruiting and organizing volunteers, liaising with community groups, and supporting the career fair organization. Join this working group to ensure another successful year for BE-STEMM!

External Relations & Advancement

This standing committee connects CBSN to supporters who are aligned with our vision of advancing Black inclusion in STEMM. Another aspect of the committee's work is ensuring the needs of our members are shared with politicians and policy-makers.

Responsibilities include:

grant-writing
sponsor and donor relations
advocacy & consultation with government agencies & parliamentarians
conference ambassadors program

This might be a good choice for you if you have experience or expertise in writing or adjudicating grant applications and soliciting sponsorships, or government relations (or if you would like to learn those skills).
