My name is Amirah-Iman Hicks, PhD (she/her/hers). I graduated from McGill University with a PhD in Physiology and I am the EDI Advisor for the Pan-Canadian Genome Library ( https://genomelibrary.ca/ ), where I advocate for equity, accessibility and decolonization practices in genomics research. I have extensive experience with community engagement, leadership, conference planning, and project management which I’ve gained through my work as Secretary of Black In Neuro ( https://blackinneuro.com/ ). I have been a CBSN/RCSN member since it was first established and I have contributed to the organization by promoting the network within my community, being an active member on Slack and volunteering during the BESTEMM conference. As the Academic Program Director, I aim to foster the sustainability of the Network and the ongoing development of its members by using my skills to plan engaging seminars, host career development workshops that cater to multiple sectors and host a fulfilling conference. Thank you all!
